Sola Olulode is a British-Nigerian artist born in 1996, whose artwork offers intimate depictions of Black queer identity, often adopting a gestural style that emphasises the importance of the body. Her practice seeks to centre and celebrate the multifaceted experiences of British women and non-binary individuals, emphasising a need for wider representation of queer love. The two monoprints, Young Love and Complete Comfort, utilise Olulode’s signature blue palette to depict loving moments of romance, and are desribed by the artist as “quiet scenes of tenderness, capturing a moment of physical intimacy.”
